1. Before using the program

1-1 Specifications 
* When using multiple monitors, the M-crew Server screen display corresponds to only the primary display.
* Removing may take a while, depending on the files in the folder.
* Some contents such as copyright protected music cannot be played by the system stereo even if they are registered by M-crew Server.
* When an external hard disk or memory is selected by the Auto link setting, the computer must be shut down before disconnecting these devices.
* When using SP2 with Windows XP, be sure to make the correct ICF settings, otherwise M-crew Server may not operate properly. See the Installation Manual for details.
* M-crew Server operation becomes slower as the size of the database managed by M-crew Server increases. See "3.1 Database size" for how to optimize the database.
* Original brand and home-made personal computers do not apply.

* Note that you may be unable to play some broadcasts.

2-2 Loss of sound during playback
* Sound loss may occur depending on your Internet line conditions.

2-3 WEB RADIO database
*The address in the URL information of the WEB RADIO database may have been updated. (The currently registered URL information is as of February 2005)

3. Other Operations

3-1 Database size
When you register a large number of songs in M-crew Server, the database size increases.
Perform the procedure below to optimize the database.
1. Stop the service from the task tray icon.
2. Shut down all M-crew Server related applications that are currently active.

3. Start up "McCompactDB.exe" located on the path where M-crew Server is installed (example: C:\Program Files\Mcrewserver), and press the "Execute" button.

3-2 Delete the ports set to OPEN by the ICF Settings of M-crew Server.

When uninstalling M-crew Server, we recommend deleting the ports set to OPEN by the ICF Setting application on the OS.
Perform the operations below to delete the ports.

For Windows SP1:
1. Click [START]-[Control Panel] in that order.
2. When control panel is in the Category view, switch to the Classic View.
3. Select [Network Connections].
4. Right-click [Local Area Connection], then select [Properties] in the menu.
5. Place a check in the "Internet Connection Firewall" checkbox in the Advanced tab of the dialog that appears, then click [Settings].
6. Select [Mcrew *** Server] in the Service tab of the dialog that appears, then click [Delete].
* After deleting the ports, return the "Internet Connection Firewall" checkbox to its original state.

For Windows SP2:
1. Click [Start]- [ControlPanel]-[Security Center]-[Windows Firewall] in that order. 
2. Click [Setting] under Network Connection Settings in the Advanced tab.
3. Select [Mcrew *** Server] in the Service tab of the dialog that appears, then click [Delete].

3-3 When CDDB operations cannot be performed correctly, try the following operations.

1. If M-crew Server is active, shut down M-crew Server.
2. Display the folder* where the CDDB cache file is stored at the M-crew Server installation destination.
3. Delete the "cddb.db" file** in this folder.

* Generally this is "C:\Program Files\Mcrewserver\CDDB\cache".
** The file name may appear just as "cddb" depending on the OS setting.
